Meet Shon Theriault, Cobbossee’s New Lake Manager

My position as Lake Manager, funded by CLA, provides lake users with a year-round point of contact for anything involving the lake. My role is to help protect and enhance Cobbossee Lake, ensuring it remains a vibrant and beautiful resource for our community. After 26 years as a Maine Game Warden, I’m deeply committed to safeguarding our waters and supporting a healthy environment for everyone. I have personally witnessed our environment changing over my career and have worked tirelessly on conservation efforts to ensure future generations can enjoy what we have. I believe education and outreach are the best tools for success.

As Lake Manager, my goal is to be CLA’s year-round and on-the-water advocate for lake and wildlife preservation, education, communication and safety.  I will also be overseeing the Association’s “Lake Health” program to help prevent and control aquatic invasive species and am always available to discuss your ideas or concerns. I plan to be on the lake daily throughout the summer, available to answer questions or provide assistance, and welcome you and all of our partners and stakeholders to reach out to me at any time.

My wife, Emily, and I have recently purchased property on Horseshoe Island, and we’re genuinely invested in Cobbossee Lake’s future. I grew up in Augusta and have had a close connection with Cobbossee and the surrounding area most of my life. I learned to water ski on the lake when I was 10 years old and have enjoyed making memories with our friends at their places on the lake for many years. When not working, we love hiking, mountain biking, skiing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with our son Lance, daughter Avery, and dog Piper.

I’m honored to serve as Lake Manager and proud to be part of CLA. Please don’t hesitate to contact me or flag me down with any questions, ideas, or concerns. I look forward to seeing you on the lake! – Shon
